- After the A68 at roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto the A696 (signposted A696 The South, Newcastle).
- Continue forward onto the A696, entering Newcastle Upon Tyne, and at the roundabout take the 3rd exit onto Ponteland Road (A167), signposted city centre.
- At Kenton Bar Roundabout take the 2nd exit onto Ponteland Road (A167), signposted Newcastle city centre.
- At Harehills Roundabout take the 2nd exit onto Ponteland Road (A167).
- At Springfield Roundabout take the 3rd exit onto Ponteland Road (A167) signposted city centre.
- At Ponteland Road roundabout take the 1st exit onto the A167.
- Branch left, then turn right onto the B1318 (signposted city centre north).
- At the roundabout take the 2nd exit onto Claremont Road (B1318).
- Turn right onto Barras Bridge (B1307)
